Families

We love welcoming young families to our Church, whether you're coming for a regular or special service. We know that children wriggle, run, and sometimes express themselves more loudly than adults, and we're glad to see them participating in our services in their own ways. There's lots to see and do during a service, whether it's simply closing your eyes to pray or making a joyful noise during the hymns, so do help your children to join in as much as they are able.

We have a children's corner in the church, where children can play and draw whilst still joining in with the service. Also many of our services have Junior or Forest church, where kids can go off to join in activities that cover the same topics as the services, just in a younger way.

On a practical level, we have baby-changing facilities as well as toddler seats and steps in our accessible toilet, and we are very happy for you to feed your children during the service.

We're delighted to be launching a monthly Messy Church service taking place at 3pm on the 3rd Sunday of each month!

Messy Church is a well-established national initiative which welcomes people to explore and engage with God in a structured but informal service. After a brief welcome and introduction, the bulk of a Messy Church service is centered around a range of activities which all relate to the story/theme of the day in different ways. There could be arts and crafts of all varieties, junk modelling, science experiments, games/challenges, quiet reflective space, and of course the potential for a little mess(!). It's also a place to share the messiness of life, so each activity has a host who both knows what the activity is, and welcomes and engages with those attending. At the end of the activity time, everyone regathers for a Bible story and short talk linking the various activities together, a prayer, and a song. It's especially suitable for families, but it's church - so all are welcome!

Our Pixies Playgroup is for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers and their parents, grandparents and carers; a place to play, explore, make friends and support one another as we raise our children. Our meetings are on Friday mornings, 10-11.30am, in the Church Centre at St Anne's (just behind the church building).

There is no charge, although donations are welcome, and no need to book - just turn up on the day.

Best wishes

Young People

Although we are not currently able to run youth clubs in our Church centre, we are pleased to share the youth groups taking place nearby.

For both of these groups, please email katy.baker@stmaryscamberley.org.uk
