Play your part in our Big Green Vision

In 2021 you helped to raise £31,000 to launch our five year vision and strategy. With an ever-warming climate and increasing loss of biodiversity, we believe God is calling Christians and churches across the country to make an even bigger difference in this ecological crisis - and be a voice of hope for both people and nature.

A gift to our Big Green Vision 2023 Appeal will allow us to restore lost habitats and reconnect people with nature at a scale we have not done before, building on the successes of the last two years, and making the most of the new opportunities that have come our way since the big green vision was launched.

Celebrating 40 years of Christian conservation It was 1983 when Peter and Miranda Harris and their young family arrived in Portugal, seeking to establish a Christian field station where creation and God could be celebrated together. Based near the Alvor Marshes in Portugal’s Algarve, a migratory hotspot for birds surrounded by a wealth of biodiversity, Cruzinha soon became home to a vibrant and ever-changing community that shared a love for the natural world and a passion for Christ.

Final call to Act for Nature with us in 2023 From Scargill House in the scenic Yorkshire Dales, to Wolf Fields, our west London nature reserve, via other Partner in action sites and Eco Churches, supporters new and not so new have had a fun day making a difference at our Act for Nature events in 2023. Our last but not least event of the year will be at our Partner in Action, Nettle Hill in Warwickshire on 14 October.

In addition to being a residential conference and retreat centre, Nettle Hill facilitates a forest school and has a plant-based café on site. Their seven acres of beautiful grounds include grasslands, a wildlife pond, woodland and a permaculture-based vegetable garden -  a great space for many of our Target T25 habitats and species. Come along and invite your church, family and friends to tour the grounds, take part in practical conservation work, explore campaigning - and meet other supporters and staff. Registration closes soon.

Eco Tip - Prepare now and give a bird a home in 2024. It might seem to be a strange time to be thinking about bird boxes, but this is the season in which many of our resident birds slowly begin the process of looking for nest sites for next year. Therefore, it is a really good idea to get as many new boxes up as you can, before the end of the autumn season, as it will make it more likely for boxes to be used next spring. For best nest box tips please see here. For more practical eco-tips, sign up to Wild Christian.
