Every Sunday we have two morning services, the first at 8am and the second at 10am.
Our 8am service is a spoken Holy Communion service, and includes the set readings for the day as well as a short sermon. On the first Sunday of each month we use the traditional Book of Common Prayer liturgy (BCP), whilst on the other Sundays our service uses Common Worship.
Our 10am service always includes music led by the choir, Bible readings, and a sermon, but the service format varies throughout the month:
- Family Communion (1st Sunday): A shortened and simplified Holy Communion service, incorporating both traditional hymns as well as modern music, and with a more informal interactive sermon. Children stay for the whole service and are encouraged to join in with the service by helping with practical things such as carrying the cross, or taking the offerings.
- Mattins (2nd Sunday): A traditional morning prayer service using the Book of Common Prayer, with hymns and sung responses.
- Holy Communion (3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays): A Holy Communion service using Common Worship, with hymns and some sung responses.
Junior Church runs during the 10am service on all except the first Sunday of the month, with a break over the Christmas and Summer holidays; alternatively children are welcome to stay in church for the duration of the service and may also enjoy our children's corner.
Whether you're a visitor or a regular, young or old, full of faith or full of questions (or both!) you are welcome at any of our services; there is coffee and conversation after all our morning services so do stay for a chat.
