Welcome to St Anne's.

St Anne's is the Parish Church of Bagshot, Surrey.

Our worship style is middle-of-the-road Church of England.
About a third of our congregation come from outside the parish, because they like our welcome and our style.

As you will see from the tab below, during the course of a month we hold a variety of different services ranging from All Age Worship to the Communion Service in the 1662 prayer book via morning prayer, evensong and Parish Communion.

Our church is about 130 years old. It is a beautiful building with some excellent stained glass and is a superb example of Victorian neo-gothic architecture.
More recently we added behind it a new Church Centre that provides us with a function room, toilets to modern expectations, a Parish Office and a kitchen.

We are child-friendly and provide a play area with books and toys in both the church and the centre for those who find that they cannot sit through a whole service. Nappy-changing facilities are also available.

For those who are enduring disabilities, we have level access to the church and centre, an induction-loop hearing system and a toilet for the semi-ambulant.

As Bagshot's Parish Church we serve the whole community and welcome all. We have an open policy for baptisms and marriages. You do not need to be a regular member of our congregation to get married here, have your children baptised, or your loved one's funeral service here.

What it means to be a Christian.

Christian life is lived in relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and in common with other Christians in the church seeking to deepen that relationship and to follow the way that Jesus taught.

For Christians God is understood and known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

…Father… God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child.

…Son… God is as he has revealed himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection holds the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death.

…and Holy Spirit… God is alive, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the life of the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church and bearing his spiritual fruit in the world - changed lives and a transformed society.

Bereavement service

Sunday 18 November at 3pm our annual bereavement service will take place. This is an opportunity for us all to remember loved ones who have died recently or perhaps some time ago.

Messy Christmas

On Saturday 1st December, 10-11.30am, we will be holding a 'Messy Christmas' event for families. It will begin with a range of craft activities relating to different nativity characters, followed by a short informal service (using some of our crafts) and then finishing with refreshments. All are welcome.

WW1 commemoration

The Remembrance Day service was attended by a very large congregation, with more joining for the Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.
Details of those commemorated on our War Memorial and the Roll of Honour can be found here.

Taize prayer

We are trialling a service using music from the Taize Community at 6pm on the third Sunday of the month.

Junior Church

Junior Church runs in parallel with the 10 o'clock service every Sunday except the first when we have an All Age or Family service.
Junior Church replaces the traditional Sunday School and has plenty of activities for young people.

Teatime Service

We have a Teatime Service twice a month.
